Online learning - using apps and web tools
What is that you want your students to be able to do, to learn or to understand? How might they achieve this? Can they do this without technology?
This last question can be difficult to answer, especially if you are not aware of the capabilities of new tools, apps and simulations available on the web and in apps. However, if you are clear about your learning objectives, our job is to help you find the web tools and apps to allow your students to achieve them.
Learning through digital storytelling
Stories help us to make sense of our experiences (Bruner 1990) and in schools there is enormous potential to make connections between formal learning and children's known ways of representing meaning such as storytelling, drawing or dramatizing (Dyson 1999).

This DigiPack aims to develop effective and essential leadership skills through comprehensive leadership education and diverse experiences and by looking at leadership as a measurable, learnable, and teachable set of behaviours, using real-life challenges and opportunities raised by the use of ICT in school. The pack aims to help students enhance their leadership role in school or in the community and recognise their contribution by celebrating success. It also sets the foundations for an online community which ensures that people in the school are recognised for their contributions and accomplishments. By working through this pack, students will gain perspective into how they see themselves as a leader, how others view them and how to develop skills in a number of areas.
This DigPack helps to design and implement your public school website, ensuring that it complies with current requirements whilst reflecting the style and ethos of the school. The pack covers everything which you need to do to get your Office 365 based public website up and running. This includes a day of onsite planning and training from our eLearning team to support your school in setting up the public website. You will need to identify who will have administrative permissions on the website and also who in the school can make decisions regarding, the structure and aesthetics of the site.
ICT and Ofsted
Whilst the school will be preparing for Ofsted in all that it does, sometimes a focussed approach to certain areas such as ICT can be useful. In this DigiPack, we will use your teaching scheme for ICT for the next year and will also look through your ICT/e-safety related documents to see where there are opportunities to use technology of various kinds to ensure that students understand e-safety. We will arrange to visit you for half a day to look into the resources you have, to suggest others and to look at how e-safety is delivered across the school outside of ICT lessons. We will ensure you have all the resources in place, we will deliver e-safety lessons if required and we will, if required, help the ICT department with planning and delivery of a suitable curriculum.
